I wasn't sure what to expect with this book, because it's outside my usual reading genre but I absolutely loved it. The Anzac Girl, set in Australia, is a fascinating glimpse into the complex dramas that can play out between generations. Author Christine Leigh Langtree tells the story of the Cooper family through the perpsectives of grandmother, mother and son, and she effortlessly describes the love, angst, and anger that arise in those twined relations. Langtree is a skilled story teller and an elegant writer. I highly recommend this book.

I had a hard time putting this book down once I started it. Bought it on a whim and am glad I did. Great story, I enjoyed it.

Christine Leigh Langtree is an authentic Australian voice, telling the story of a family, warts and all. A great book which draws you into to being fully involved with the narrative. I highly recommend this book and look forward to more from this author.

I edited this collection of anonymous essays with Kylie Ladd, a couple of years ago. The writers of these essays were incredibly honest  the reality about infidelity and I have so much respect for them and the way laid themselves ... well ... naked, of course.

Here is a review and an extract of one of the stories from :
If you’ve ever wondered what draws someone to actually cheat on their partner, how they justify their actions and why they would ever settle for anything less than everything, you have to read this! The reality of having an affair may surprise you…     NZ Girl

So interesting. Everyone has a story. Loving peeking behind the curtain and sneaking a peek.

My cutest book is called How to be a Child. The original title was How to Impersonate a Child. But the publisher thought it didn't 'scan' and wanted it changed. It was my first book, so like a lot of authors, I said, 'Anything! Anything! Just get me into print!' There are a lot of things I would ask them to do differently now - but regardless it's a lovely little book.

I was extremely fortunate that Michael Coyne, one of Australia's greatest photographers, let me use his photographs in this book. He has been on the ground photographing some of the most pivotal moments of our times and has received many awards for his cutting edge work. But during those times, when he was in far flung places photographing wars and genocide and famine for clients such as Time and National Geographic and Life, he was also taking everyday photos for himself, ones that illustrated that no matter what is happening  around them, human beings will still find it in themselves somewhere, somehow, to take joy in their lives.
